Hi,
Could somebody give me some assistance in finding the regs for 415v electric cable ext leads,as currently on the site at work the cables go all over the work areas and are not armoured, only outer rubber insultions. It's been like this for at least 5 weeks and i,ve had enough of raising this issue with the h&s dept, and feel that a UIN from the union is now the only option and this form requires what regs are being broken.A serious accident could occur.

Where there is no alternative temporary extension leads at 415V can be used. However electricity kills [repeat kills!] so the leads themselves and the environment they are in must be suitable and sufficient e.g. the leads should not be trip hazards nor be able to be run over by plant etc, where practicable they should be 'run' in such a way as they cannot easily be tampered with nor accidentally damaged even by weather etc. The list goes on

Get in touch with a competent person [H&S professional, elec engineer, union rep] to evaluate on site
