Posted By paul harley I am looking for a manual handling training course that will enable me to train employees in manual handling. I would like to have a formal (recognised)certificate at the end of the training. Can anyone point me in the right direction. Thanks Paul

Posted By Robert Whent Paul,,there are lots of providers of this type of training, some advertise in the SHP. RoSPA do a good course, but it is quite expensive and very long (5Days!) It also depends on the industry you are in and what you want to teach people to lift. There are marked differences lifting a box of paper and a squealing pig! Rob

Posted By Ian Minty I can reccomend the Rospa course, having done it myself. I have also heard that the IOSH course is quite good. Both require a lot of hard work, homework etc. and I would reccomend them both.

Posted By Sophia masuko I have recently been on an IOSH Manual Handling Training for Trainers and I can assure you it is of a very high standard. You also get a certificate. Sophia

Posted By Jim Walker I'll second that. The IOSH course is one of the best training courses I've ever been on.
