Posted By Philosophical MITIE Olscot Ltd, part of MITIE Cleaning, has a vacancy for a regional health, safety and environmental manager to oversee HS&E within its operations in Scotland. This is a multifunction role reporting direct to the Regional Director and has the following responsibilities: 1. Assist line managers with the identification and development of practical and effective safe working procedures 2. Identification and implementation of appropriate strategies to meet MITIE Group, Discipline and Company objectives with regard to safety and the environment. 3. Audit and inspection of operational areas to ensure that work activities are being carried out safely and environmental impacts are minimised. 4. Assisting in tender compilation to ensure that all safety and environmental aspects within a potential contract are considered and can be managed. 5. Ensuring that company senior management are kept aware of their legal and management responsibilities for health and safety. 6. Ensure that line managers and operational personnel have the appropriate technical competence to work safely by the provision of formal and informal training. 7. Investigation of accidents and incidents and the production of statistical information in relation to safety performance.
