NHS Grampian has a vacancy for a Risk Management Advisor (Informatics).
The closing date is 10 Sept and salary scale £20876 to £24424. Interviews 23 Sept.
An opportunity has arisen within the Risk Management Support Unit for someone experienced in informatics to develop and apply their skills to risk management in the NHS. The successful applicant will have a pivotal role in leading and developing NHS Grampian's risk informatics infrastructure to create an environment where people have ready access to robust risk information that is systematically used to manage risk to patients, staff and the organisation. This is a key role as it is recognised that success in risk management is dependent on effective informatics. The successful candidate will have wide scope to influence developments and must be highly IT literate with experience of specifying, designing, procuring, implementing and overseeing information systems. Two staff will report to this post and good line management skills should be evident. Whist full-time and permanent, actual hours can be negotiated. Training in risk management will be provided as required. Not the same Wayne Gault who I referenced in my MSc a number of times on an article in SHP 'Don't shoot the messenger' and very good it was too. Indeed, after reading the article I decided to subject my dissertaion on a blame culture. Its a shame I live in London and the wages are too low...

Yes, I'm the very same one Ray. If you are finished your dissertation, I'd be very interested to read it.
I know the post's wages may be low by London standards but is made up for by the quality of colleagues, challenge of the job and pleasant part of Scotland in which to live!
