Please don't take offence, but you really are not even close to a salary that should be paid to someone who has been a tradesman, has thereafter moved into the training field, has gathered a depth of knowledge of health & safety and has to present his knowledge in a professional manner
all of the above for £312 per week top line!!
Health & Safety trainers with the experience/qualifications you are looking for should be paid at least £22,000. Our profession requires us to promote health & safety and to this end demands professional salaries
regards
kenny - (bricklayer, D32,33,34.Safety Manager MIOSH qualified.

No Offence taken!
As a former tradesman myself i totally understand where you are coming from.
The construction sector is in a boom era at the moment and skilled tradesmen are at a premium, some earning up in the high 70k bracket quite easily, so my pittance allowance is not designed to attract the go get it men, but may be of interest to a person starting out in H/S or a semi retired, sick of real work, looking for an easier life in the warm tradesman!!
But the real reason is my boss is as tight as a camels backside in a sandstorm, and that was what the salary was really based on!
In seriousness, there is a real job offer here and it will be backed up by excellent support, first classs training and ongoing personal proffessional development.
The salary advertised is a starting salary as well, and I would like to say thank you to all the people that have replied to the thread so far, I will be in touch shortly
Regards
Phil

Philip,
I am sure all applicants will be really pleased with the way you have just described them and how much you boss obviously values them!
Motivational skills are, I'll wager, not included in your list of courses

Hi Philip
I must be one of the few with a sense of humour, i'm sure there are people out there who would jump at the chance to progress their career in H&S. I for one have already sent my cv to you. There must be people out there who need that one all important start. Not everyone has had the chance to gain MIOSH or other equivalent qualification, but has valuable experience dealing with people in a wide variety of roles and that counts as much when starting out, i for one would trust someone with a NEBOSH cert who has practical experience over a newly qualified all singing all dancing wet behind the ears graduate!!
