Posted By Adrian Ricketts BRIEF DESCRIPTION Safety, Health & Environmental professional to carry out all normal aspects of a general safety practitioner. OBJECTIVE To provide a reliable, professional and supportive advisory service to manage, reduce, if not eliminate, Safety Health and Environmental risk to our customers business and their workforce. RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting directly to the Managing Director. Day to day communication with the operations Director. No staff or financial responsibilities. LOCATION Bristol office based with frequent requirement for regional and national site visits. MAIN DUTIES OR TASKS • Safety Audits and Inspections. • Accident / Incident investigations. • CDM Planning Supervisor. • Preparation and or review of Risk assessments and method statements. • Preparation & presentation of Safety Training Courses. • General safety management and safe systems of work. QUALIFICATIONS • NEBOSH qualified or equivalent. • Membership of IOSH and / or IIRSM, APS, RoSPA. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE Essential • A minimum of 5 years experience in the Construction and / or Civil Engineering Industry. • A minimum of 2 years as Safety practitioner. • Comprehensive knowledge of H & S legislation. • Can demonstrate effective delivery of the safety message. Preferred • Experience dealing with HSE, Local Authority environmental agencies and Fire Officers SKILLS • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • Excellent presentational and training skills. • Effective persuasive skills. PERSON SPECIFICATION • Familiar with use of IT including email, word and power point. • Ability to communicate confidently at all levels. • Well organised with good time management. • Able to work under own initiative. • Willingness to travel. • Hold a full, current driving licence. • Team player.
