Based at our Regional Office in Laverton, reporting to the Operations Manager, this multi-faceted role will be responsible for the management and co-ordination of the region's health, safety and environment programs, as well as workers compensation management. Broadly speaking, the accountabilities will include: • Conduct systematic risk assessments • Develop and implement HS&E and workers compensation compliance audit programs • Conduct HSE audits • Co-ordinate HS&E committees across the region • Maintain records in line with legislative and company guidelines • Completion of reports in line with company guidelines and time frames • Develop and implement site and task specific procedures and work instructions • Oversee and manage the day-to-day management of workers compensation claims and injury management programs. The successful applicant will bring to the role tertiary qualifications in health, safety and/or environment with a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role. Sound knowledge of relevant workers compensation and injury management legislative framework and requirements is essential, as is experience in conducting systematic risk assessments and audits. Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS packages is a must. Insofar as personal qualities are concerned, excellent communication and interpersonal skills is paramount, as are strong time management and organisation skills.
