Posted By Robert Paterson Hi Paul If you look at job adverts in any of the websites and agencies you will find they are looking for a diploma and experience. My advice would be to enrol on the next available course and get involved with your local branch of IOSH and get to know the members. You can attend the meetings even if you are not a member. I would check the branches section on this website and find out whio the contact for your local branch is. It is a long road to becoming qualified but wotrhwhile when you secure that first step into Health and Safety management. I and other people are trying to get IOSH to start a database where people like you self can register for work experience in conjuction with your studies. Lets hope that you can maybe join with us to influence the main body to move this idea forward. Sorry to be long winded but the bottom line is you need the extra qualifications to succeed in H&S Kind Regards Robert Paterson

Posted By Donald Gillies Hi Paul, I noticed that you obtained a OU degree and NVQ 4 in OHASP. I am looking at doing the diploma (via RRC), but doing it as part of a degree, hopefully also by distance learning. Can you give us more details on your experience? Thxs, DG
