The route I took is
CIEH Train the Trainers course -you can look on the Charterted institute of environmental health website for providers or do a search on google - theres a lot of providers out there and prices vary.
Then I also did the First steps in informal teaching at a local college
I went on to the City and Guilds 7307 - which is the recognised standard for tutors in colleges and FE - local colleges provide this one
I then went one step further and did the PGCE/Cert ed, but you wont need that one !
There are also specialist courses such as train the trainer in Manual handling at IOSH HQ (did that one too!).. anyone need a good trainer!
Good luck

I fully support Pauls response. The City and Guilds 7307 is an excellent course and it gives you so much to think about. Its well structured and delivered by professional tutors, it teaches you all about lesson plans, timing, methods, visual aids etc. I recommend the course to all safety practitioners who deliver regular training, to complete the course or at least stage 1 as a minimum
I will certainly help us to get away from comments that H&S is as being a boring subject.
