Hi everyone,

I've just descover this website. I have the Advanced Health and Safety Diploma as well as the Advanced Food Hygiene Diploma!
I would like to know if those diplomas are the equivalent of the IOSH certificate?

I am actually working as a chef and Health and Safety coordinator.
I have a great interest regarding Health and Safety as well as Food Hygiene.

I would like to know if it's possible for me to find a trainee position or equivalent with my diplomas? or should I study some more?

Thanks,

Claire

Hi Claire,

If your qualification is the CIEH Advanced H&S Certificate then it is not equivalent to a NEBOSH Certificate.

However, in answer to your other two questions...

Can you get an H&S position?
Yes, but it is not easy, (see previous postings and threads on the difficulties of getting a job without experience and getting experience without a job). As a first step, Could you get more involved in H&S issues with your current employer?

Should you do more training?
Yes, but it is not cheap. Your current employer might be talked into contributing some or all of the funding.
