Lifting, Handling and Back Pain Training Material

I was fortunate enough to be part of one of the Back in Work pilot projects which ran during the year 2000.
The research team developed a large amount of training resources and also a novel approach to handling assessments.
Details of the project will be outlined in an article in this month's safety and health practitoner, however the researxh team were keen to put as much of the material developed into the public domain.
So here is the goo news :- If you check out the in brief section on the welcome page you will find a link which will give you all of the training and assessment material we developed.
I hope that you find it of use.
Best Regards
Neil

Neil,
Congratulations you and your colleagues have produced an excellent resource pack. Very impressed with your towel exercise.
I would like to hyperlink this from my website. Let me know if you would be happy with that.

Dear Ciaran,
Thank you for your very kind response, I just hope that the material is of use. I would be delighted if you linked into the material, but you will have to co-ordinate the link with Angela Wheatcroft in IOSH HQ.
Thanks again
Best Regards
Neil

Thanks for the nice comments,
Just in case I didn't make it clear the training material can be freely reproduced and generaly mucked about with so long as it is not done for commercial gain.
If anyone has any questions relating to the material please drop me a line
Best Regards
Neil

It is very generous of you to share your material, so I feel rather nasty in criticising it ...but - the files are rather on the large side. When I realised that downloading all the files would take about 12 floppy discs I decided not to even try.
I'm sure the material is excellent but I feel it might need a computer health warning.
Could the files be put onto the IOSH web site for more convenient use ?
Regards
Jane

Thanks for the comments Jane.
Angela is looking at how we can reduce the sze of the files.
Unfortunatley the graphics take up a lot of memory, but I though that most people would find them useful.
No doubt if Angela cracks it she'll let us know.
Regards
Neil

You can download the material on the hard drives of your computers. The MSOffice powerpoint ppt files are generally of a large size--The total material is approximately 12MB.
