Can you please help? I need to explain the term tetanus. In relation to the disease is tetanus the result of bacteria, micro organisims or what entering the body. What are the symptoms of the disease and how long before it can become fatal? Any help is appreciated, Juliet

In short, Tetanus is induced by the toxin of Tetanus bacilli which grow anaerobically at the site of penetration wounds. The spores are present in soil. It's not spread from person to person.
