Posted By Haroon Rasheed Tabani Recently we had a fire incident during a Barbeque activity. As it is a common activity at site, being a safety professional, I am willing to post some safety precautionary notes / guidance for people involving in Barbeque activity. My main question is: WHAT ARE THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN DURING LIGHTING, IGNITING, MAINTAINING AND EXTINGUISHING BARBEQUE? Could anyone help me please.

Posted By Ken Taylor You will need to add the fire, hot surfaces and knocking the thing over risks to the above. Controls will include competent persons, level ground, proper fuel, guards where children or crowds present, fire blanket, storing food free from contamination 450mm off the ground, etc. RoSPA had some guidance on these (0121 248 2000).
