Posted By Robert Woods I have been contacted by a person working in a retail environment which is infested by either fleas or mites. Her manager says she cannot do anything about it as the insects are coming in the product packaging. The majority of the products [shoes] come from the Phillipines, Vietnam, etc. Can anyone help with advice on the health risks the insects pose, the managers duties [other than risk assessment], legislation that may be appropriate and ways of dealing with the infestation. Has anyone experianced similar cases? Robert Woods

Posted By Frank Cooper Robert, I would suggest you contacted your local council Environmental people; in particular, their Pest Control Officer, for advice on this one. Hope this helps, Frank Cooper
