Posted By David Gault I work for a large manufacturing company and as such we have issues with delivering parts from our warehouse to the decanting area and onwards to manufacturing. We have to be flexible due to the rapid pace of product change at the manufacturing end. So the point is I am wondering if anyoe out there would like an exchange visit to look at how we operate, because I am definitely interested in how other plants maintain flexibility and safety in fast paced warehousing.
There are no legal worries at this end, it is really about exchanging information directly on best practice. Any takers?

Posted By Mitch David,
Can't help with a visit (we have slow moving warehouse) but I salute your initiative and wish you the best of luck. When I have mentioned this in the past I've always been greeted with a look that suggests I am asking for trade secrets!

Posted By David Gault Hi Chris,
I am based in Telford, just off junction 4 of the M54.
I think the comment from Mitch was interesting.
If it reassures anyone I am not interested in trade secrets and really want share expertise. We do some things really well here and I am sure I can still learn from others.

Posted By Chris Jerman David, I sit on the BRC Policy Action Group with all the other Heads of Safety from: Asda, Comet, Currys, Homebase, B@Q, Sainsbury, Tesco, Waitrose, Somerfield, Kingfisher, Dixons, Argos, Boots, Co-op etc etc etc.
Do you know, we don't have any secrets at all. Confidentiality never raises it's head. Clearly nothing leaves the room. But inside, we have one aim.
Telford a bit off my track, but happy to drop by if you wanted some help.
Chris

Posted By Mitch Sorry chaps,
Inflections again, perhaps should have worded it 'greeted with suspicion'

Posted By David Gault I see what you mean Mitch. That is one of the problems with text based communication (email is always bad for that) - no inflection and it can easily get out of hand. Thanks for your comments.
