Posted By Dennis c Reynolds We are a pallet rack company using several different installation companies. We hire Forklift trucks for use on site. Often these are gas fueled. There is need to hold 1 spare 18KG Cylinder of gas on site sometimes for as little as 2 or 3 days. Normally I would expect to store the spare cylinders outside a safely position secure cage suitably signed. It seams a little over the top to install a cage for 2 or 3 days. It seams more reasonable to chain and padlock the cylinder to a fence post or some other immovable object within a secure outside area. However that does not stop someone who should not be there EG. a child messing with it and releasing the gas. I have contacted the "usual suspects" and received advise none of it very practical. has anyone else had to solve this one?

Posted By SteveD-M http://www.trimetals.co....gas-storage.php?m=5&g=10 I got this for a client with a similar problem. He then moves this around with the plant...that's another story....

Posted By Stephen Mitchell Dennis As you have stated you would secure the cylinder to an immovable object; and are now therefore asking how to stop unauthorised tampering with the valve then try having a look at http://www.seton.co.uk/s...00002-1%20200718-2.html.

Posted By Ron Hunter A small cylinder. Why not mount & keep the spare fuel/empty on the vehicle (FLT)? All secure, hazardous material all in the same place.
