Hi

I am in discussion with some people regarding whether flame retardant clothing could cause illness to wearers as a result of a chemical called PBB (long name so wont spell it out)in the fabric. If anyone has any information or knows of any health issues surrounding PBB and flame retardant clothing would be grateful for a response

There has been some research into the health effects of PBBs and PCBs - we looked into the latter and ended up removing anything with them. I am out of date in this area now, so I would suggest that you go into Google Scholar as you should be able to find some, although you will need an Athens log-on to gain access, unless you purchase them.
