They are apparently less dangerous in Cornwall where only string lines are not allowed on many sites. Rotary lines are OK as long as "they are out of sight of your neighbour" which has ring of Monty Python about it, don't you think.

I am sure eventually we will iron out all the creases in this story.

To be fair though, a collision with a string line in the dark could cause a tumble.

It begs the question, what is their policy on guy ropes on tents or wind breaks - have they banned them yet, after all it's the same problem?
