Hi, Don't know if anyone out there can shed some light on something for me.

My company are going through a tender process with a company in Northern Ireland. We are UK based. Part of the tender documentation relates to a Construction Contract Monitor and I am just wondering if this is a normal position within NI contracts, or something specific to Construction in NI. We will not be undertaking any Construction as part of this contract and so I am hoping it is just a standard section which is added to all tenders?

If anyone has had any dealing with this kind of thing and can shed some light for me, I would be very grateful.

Thank you

I work in construction in NI and it is not something I have ever heard of.

Is it part of the H&S section of the tender documents?

No it is not. It is in its own section headed:
Construction related contracts - Construction contract monitor (CCM).

I was hoping it was a variation to the CDM regs. But if you work in construction and have not heard of it, then I am not sure where to go with finding out what it is!

Some of the information relates to contract management, CDM, supplying of plant and materials etc. Then it also relates to monitoring the contractors activities in respect to:
- Payments to criminal or paramilitary organisations
- Payments of taxes, landfill etc
- compliance with waste disposal legislation

If you think of anything, let me know.
