We are arranging a health and well-being day at two of our sites. If anyone out there has arranged anything similar I would appreciate some suggestions on what worked well in your settings.
Our event would be either a drop in or a mixture of set events and drop in.

Thought about having a health corner. Blood pressure, cholesterol etc.. which our occ health people can run. Healthy menu in the canteen.

One of the ideas is a nutritionist but having difficulties tracking someone down for the Sheffield and Middlesbrough areas.

Any ideas welcome..budget well as you can imagine small !!

I did this in a previous job when we were working through the Scotland's Health at Work (SHAW) awards scheme.

I started a monthly newsletter, with a competition to win vouchers for healthy things, the company paid for gym membership for all staff, we had a few days where employees could sample various treatments such as reiki, reflexology and indian head massage. We also had people come and speak to the employees at lunchtime, and provided a healthy lunch for staff - we had a nutritionist, a rep from the Advanced Institute of Motorists, a Tai Chi practitioner etc. I found that as soon as you start offering free, fun things to staff, their ideas soon start flowing and they are more than happy to make suggestions for other activities.
