Posted By Lee Mac Evening All,
Is it just me or has this forum become quite a battleground recently?
Do you think it is a sign of the current economic climate or have we become a righteous bunch of folk in recent times?
In my experience over the years it used to be quite enjoyable now there is nearly a battle occurring on a daily basis.
That said there have been a few good topics recently.

Posted By Richard Altoft to'ing and fro'ing has always taken place, sometimes someone will get a bit heated but nothing exceptional and in my opinion it can be good to fight your corner occasionally.I dont sense a real change R

Posted By Ron Hunter Wow! I never realised that my efforts on this Forum were all about " redirecting my libidinal satisfaction". I may be more cautious in future! ;-)

Posted By clairel The forums' always been feisty from time to time. No worse now IMO.
Most of us have to be very strong minded in our work and stand up to oppositon to what we want to try an implement. So it's no real suprise that we're strong in our opinions on here.
Nothing wrong with a bit of passion in what you do I say!!

Posted By Tabs From a personal viewpoint, I agree with Clairel regarding the feistiness and why it occurs.
Just like all forums, this one suffers from personal intonation (the reader often sets the tone, be it calm, angry, sarcastic, or helpful) and the various posters like to have the final word. This has a lot to do with natural justice - in a face to face group we often get to read how the group has taken the other person's comment and often a reply of rebuff isn't needed - on a forum we often feel that we need to explain things further and further to achieve "justice".
I for one have been guilty of not letting something lie ... but it is mostly because I know (think/assume/pray) I am right.
The turn-down has meant I am on here less frequently now though :-)

Posted By Stuart Williams Good topic and something I have been thinking about over the past couple of days too.
Like AMelrose I used to post occasionally but now don't (Oops, except this one) and now contact the person direct. Not doing this as much now as I sometimes do not even get a "Thank You" reply for taking the time out to send the requested info.
From reading some of the replies it does seem there is more bickering happening now than a few years ago.
Some of the replies also appear ruder than yesteryear whether they were meant to be or not - fine line about being passionate and just rude when only using text as it can often be taken the wrong way.

Posted By Jay Joshi Or some posters, even when contacted directly actually copy and paste a private/confidential e-mails on this discussion forum and ask very personal questions?
