Were the word on the front on a brown envelope that was on my desk this morning.

Inside was a letter outlining the change to the law poster

Seems a provider has used the change in the poster to a marketing opportunity. Cant blame them in the current crisis, but I just wonder how many companies will just panic and buy the poster way way before the end of the 2014 transitional period.....

I got one of those yesterday, seemed a little over the top to me, esp as I seem to be forever getting catalogues from said company and it could have been printed in one of those.

Hi Carl

HSE is aware of a promotional campaign which involves the use of this legend and which may be misleading. We are investigating and will take appropriate action in the next day or two.

Hop this provides some reassurance.

Yes the same thing happend to me this morning, I was alarmed when I saw Legal Notice - Action Required on the envelope.
I wonder how many people will rush in to buying them without knowing that there is a 5 year time scale.
My answer will be that the said company, who it would appear a number of us use, will no longer get any buisness from me as I do not like underhand dealing.

I thought this was misleading. I've also received emails on a similar line.

The main detail I noted was that they are making a nice profit on each sale. You can buy the poster a lot cheaper direct from HSE Books!

The answer (long term) is to blacklist them from your suppliers lists.
