Posted By SC Hopefully someone can help me out here.
3rd Parties require to use explosives whilst on the rig. This is all stored in the correct fashion.
When the 3rd Party is required to leave the rig (even if only for a few days), should the explosives be sent onshore?
What i mean is...should there always be an "explosives responsible person" on the rig, while the explosives are stored on the rig.
Thanks in advance!

Posted By A Campbell SC,
Think you will find that the OIM or his/her designate should be the only key holder for explosive and/or radioactive source container.
If you are abroad... then likely lapse system... if in the UK you should have via offshore regs a safety case giving details of storage, location and also SSoW
It's very common for wireline contractors etc to leave some contents there as they frequently come and go just for their part of the work.
