Hi,
I am attempting to source a good ergonomist to advise on some proposed options and controls for improving ingredients dispensing area on site.
Has anyone used anyone that they would recommend who is practical in their approach and not produce a 50+ page report at the end of the consultation telling us how to comply with MH Regs!!
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Isn't Kieran Duignan an ergonomist? Sorry if I am incorrect but that rings a bell.

If you contact the Ergonomics Society they'll give you a list of candidates in your area and you can contact and stipulate exactly what you are looking for in the report.

Thanks. but I would like to use someone who has been "tried and tested" and was looking for recommendations for specific individuals or organisations that other members have used.

Video can be a particularly effective medium for reporting on controlling risks of M H at work.
'Good', 'very good' and 'excellent' provide reports in video, DVD and/or ppt formats to the length specified by a client.
You can find them listed on the Central Register of European Ergonomists

If Scotland would suggest Dr Richard Graveling at The Institute of Occupational Medicine based near Heriot Watt University. He's an expert on WRULD / manual handling etc and does a lot of expert witness work.
There's also Margaret Hanson at Worksout also based in Edinburgh - I know she's done work in the past on manual handling (I was involved with both of them for a research report for the HSE - RR097 The Principles of good manual handling - achieving a consensus in 2003).
South of the border, not sure I'm afraid.
