Posted By GavinR Hi, I do not have access to BS EN12021 OR 529 and I'm wondering how do I complete the 3 monthly testing of breathing air supplied by Compressed Air supply? Our system runs of fixed compressed air lines and has a filter unit installed. This is a 2 stage system for dust and oil with charcoal element that also removes organic vapours. From reviewing the risk assessment for this area and the processes i have noticed we do not conduct a 3 monthly test of breathing air as stated by COSHH ACOP. On investigation there also appears to be a BS regarding this which states we are required to test for oxygen, CO, CO2, Oil, Contaminants and water contents in the breathing air on regular basis. Would this still be a requirement even though we have the filter system and a PM in place for replacement of filters? If so can these tests be completed in house and how? Thanks for any help!

Posted By Ian D. Hi If you wish to do it in house you will need to purchase a testing rig and get the appropriate training. These rigs then use detection tubes for the criteria you have outlined Try doing a search on Drager, SibeGorman type wen sites http://www.draeger.co.uk...tEquip/testequipment.jsp Regards IAn

Posted By AYoung you could also try Factair (www.factair.co.uk) for their 'safe-air' testing kits.
