Morning all, I have two questions for those of you knowledgable in the nasty stuff... 1: A type 2 survey is conducted on a premises. As part of the Asbestos Management Plan, ACM's in good condition are left and checked annually. Who should / is competent to do this? A professional asbestos surveyor? A HS Manager who has been on an asbestos awareness course....? 2: Who is deemed competent to undertake type 2 surveys? Is P402 all that is required or do you require UKAS acreditation / Professional (Chartered?) Membership of something, somewhere? To put it in context, if a company owned a number of large industrial estates could they train someone up in-house to undertake inspections and surveys and if so to what standard? P402 is the minimum recognised standard, or you can look at the RSPH http://www.rsph.org.uk/e...0A-4068-B8F8F5C11415B731 If you are mad enough you can consider all the BOHS modules (P402) and attend the oral examination for your Certified Competent Person status, but where do you draw the line with UKAS requirements. It won't be long before we run out of surveyors, or analysts as almost everyone needs CCP status nowadays and the waiting list with BOHS has been huge over recent years. Monopoly?
