Sorry, I didn't know anyone cared? My internet is down and am on the "magic" link via the stick on the laptop.

Didn't you know Santa was green until recently? My son says he changed to red 'cos of coca cola. Not sure if he drank it or was just paid lots of money.
I second the nomintion as I also suport Santa.
He rides an environment friendly sleigh pulled by live animals. No red diesel in site, only methane and the stuff that rhymes with site!
He gets down my chimney even though I don't have one. How good is that.
I wanted to leave him a healthy snack this year but my 8 year old daughter said he should have what he always has, whisky and a mince pie, carrot for Rudolph. He always eats the pie and there are reindeer teeth marks in the end of the carrot so Rudolph must have his bit.

Roll on next Friday when all you non believers can rant on about all that christmas stuff, bah humbug etc.

Yes sean that was me, don't know why you have a problem with me now, I just say it as I see it. My rant this morning was about something I honestly believe in - the one about standing on desks to put up decorations. How stupid is that. It does give our profession a bad name as if it isn't bad enough.

You would think that the Topic authur would have more sense.

Safety professionals should always be looking over their shoulder at who might be looking at them. People these days are only too quick to criticise anyone, customer services everywhere is not what it used to be and safety professionals should not get dragged in to bad practice just because every one else is like that and it's the easy way out.

Putting up decorations - if work at height should be treated as such with the correct assessments and system of work, and useing the correct equipment.

If employees cannot be bothered with this just because it's Christmas then decorations should not be allowed.

The other option is for the safety professional to turn away and let then get on with it and hope that nothing goes wrong, but that then is the cowards way out and out profession has no time for that type of person.

Stand up and be counted, head above the parapet and all that!

Will that do sean? ha ha

steve e ashton claimed that
"MI5 were reputedly trying to extradite Mr Claus from the North Pole prior to his latest legal wrangles, seeking to discover how he managed to evade our National radar protection network (apparently his stealth technology is far advanced beyond anything available to allied nations)."

More misinformation, surely he knows that NORAD has been tracking Santa for many years and are ready for this year at http://www.noradsanta.org/ Those with fruity phones can get an app for it.

Ho ho ho!

Merry Christmas

What's all this about Santa? Innocent until proven guilty and I don't ever remember seeing him mentioned in SHP at the 'in court' section.

I reckon Santa runs a pretty tight ship and everybody knows Elf & Safety go together!

Sean

are you in Liverpool by choice or were you banished there for being anti-Santa?

I am a Newcastle fan - born and dragged up there - living in Stevenage so I share your woe. Rather be near London than your locality though. Have you had a perm and grown a tash yet?

Martin,
Believe it or not through choice, i love Liverpool, and partner is from Durham and i have a scouse child, what a mixture!!

And who's the scot's intruder? Honestly there cannot be another pro santa supporter!!

He is a fat drunkard who works one day a year, hardly a good example for children, and i bet he is on income support!!

Let's hope that your child is not reading your demolition of Santa! My four year old would be devastated if I told her that Santa was really Elvis dressed up even more outrageously. And we can hope also that Liverpool is part of Santa's flightpath.

Islington - not bad. Like all cities, has good and rough bits. Are you living in a good part of Liverpool, all things considered?

i have a 4yr old as well, he has a scouse accent, but does say bus not busssssss, for the sack of my baby the christmas tree is up, but when he is old enough to understand i will fully explain Santa's weaknesses, no child of mine will be brought up in dream land!!!!

yes live in a nice part of Liverpool, 3 bed semi, en-suite etc....

I am proud of my heritage but i couldnt live in London anymore, every time i get stuck in a small traffic jam here, i remind myself how difficult it is driving in London.
And yes believe it or not i can drive!!! Better than that fat red drunkard Santa!!!

You are a cockney with a child with a scouse accent? Borderline child abuse, I'm calling Esther......

And when you can control a bunch of reindeer when flying through the sky, and then parking on snow-covered roofs without tipping off the edge, you can say that you are better than Santa.

What's wrong with driving in London? I drive into work in central London every day. Wuss!

Its not the driving, i learnt and passed first time in london, its the volume of traffic!

look enough is enough, i am sorry to tell you that there is no such thing as father christmas, now i realise that this might come as a big shock to you, but its true, get over it and grow up!

You think you've got it bad? I'm a Geordie, my partners a Scouse and I'm bringing my son up in Scotland. God knows what kind of accent he's gonna end up with. He is however a Sunderland supporter (if he decides otherwise, he can go work for Santa)!

I see that you don't work for the Samaritans! Break it to me gently, why don't you? Blimey.

Anyway, I know - it is all for the purpose of keeping the rugrat happy. Not going to tell her about the easter bunny or the tooth fairy yet either. I am not religious, nor is my wife, but there is something magical about a bairn's face when they first see the christmas tree or talk about the anticipation of Santa dropping off the pressies. She'll have enough time to be cynical later. In a Stevenage accent.

So more work required on the counselling skills Sean. Otherwise, carry on Grinching.

I agree with you wholeheartedly on both counts my west country cousin. But then I was never any good at playing football either!

All hail the West country's fine tradition for making racing cars like;

Lolas and Penskes and more Lolas and more Penskes.

I was born and "dragged up" in Liverpool and proud of it. Off out to the pool tonight for a christmas drink and meal with one of my old fire fighting buddies. Try this link to the scouse fireman sam, extremely realistic - takes me back to the good old days.

if it doesn't work look up you tube - funny fireman sam

Glad to hear I am not alone on two counts, namely: from the west country, and like motor racing - I could never play football either. Must be a northern counties thing! .... lol
