Hi All, I'm just completing my diploma with BSC & seeking HELP, as many of you know unit 3 assignment requires conducting a climate survey on the workplace. This has never been done at my workplace, therefore I want to conduct the assignment has realistic as possible & present finding to MD, but I'm aware I need to be a bit exam savy to gain the marks in some areas. Is there anyone who could provide me with a climate survey questionnaire which has been tried & tested at their workplace, my workplace employes around 300 staff & activies include manufacturing of metal & electronic goods. I'd be much appreciated for any help. Thanks Nelly13

Nelly I think there would be more benefit in designing your own safety climate survey rather than borrow or clone one. Once you have grasped the basic principles it is not too difficult to design and implement. The other benefit is designing one that suits your own company and environment. Happy to assist if you need some help.

RayRapp, I understand where your coming from, I didn't intent to copy someone elses. I want to make it specific to our company. The reason for my request was to see what sort of questions are asked & what topics are more important to cover to get results, I've got a copy of the old HSE climate survey book but the questions seem to be generic. I'm seeking advice on is their any specific questions I need to direct just to senior mgment. Cheers

I suggest you need to think about what h&s information would be useful to your organisation. For example, is there any specific issues related to company objectives/targets, accidents and incidents, welfare, PPE, rules and procedures etc. Following this examination you need to devise a set of domains which would encapsulate those topics eg risk taking behaviour, supervision, training, communciations and so on. Not all topics fall neatly into a specific domain, so best fit will do. At the risk of stating the obvious, training courses are designed so that you think about the exercise and methodology. That said, PM me if need extra info.

Nelly13, contact me direct and I will send you a Survey we carried out for about 700 workers. Simple, straight forward stuff, but may give you some pointers.
