Which is highest level or most recognised? Should I insist on either?

Hi They both cover training and operator time and meet the legal requirement. The CPCS just cost more I believe. I think you could also consider RTITB accredited. Some times it depends on the industry you are in to which is most favoured. Regards Linda

We insist that all our plant operators hold a CPCS permit, MEWP operators included. It is arguably the most recognised industry standard qualification.

Have you tried: www.hcta.co.uk, Equipment Operators Registration Scheme, fit for purpose and much cheaper. PS: CPCS is not really a qualification, is it???

Can I suggest the International Powered Access Federation? Their powered access licences are well-known and cover all type of MEWP.

When you think about it, it comes down to proving training and competency. The NPORS is as good as the CPCS.However, within the industry, there are certain Companies who insist on a particular qualification, i.e. CPCS. iMHO they are in the wrong if they fail to accept another recognised qualification such as NPORS etc.As an example, a PC refused to recognise NPORS & IPAF and insisted on CPCS. This was argued on the grounds that the relevant training/quals were in place. The PC actually had to pay for the CPCS as they insisted on it.
