Hi all

Someone a while ago told me you can not go straight into the NEBOSH Construction cert and now you have to do the General certificate first is this correct ?

Surely this isnt correct or has this changed since I completed mine

I have a collegue who is thinking about his options

Thanks

I was led to believe you do the general certificate first and the ngc1 part of the certificate is transferrable to the construction certificate so you don't have to take that part again? I know that was the case with my fire certificate- but please don't take this as fact. It might be worth your colleague calling a couple of providers and asking them.

Not correct as far as I am aware - you can do it without doing the Cert

I've had a look also and no it is not a requirement- I suppose providers will do what they can to make a buck. Your colleague will have to do NGC1 either way but both courses provide this- so if they decide later on they would like to continue and get the general certificate within 5 years they can just take NGC2 and the practical.

Its all unit based qualifications now, If you do NGC first then you can do NCC1 and NCC 2 only to get the construction certificate.....and same for Fire Certificate as well.. you need to do only FC1 and FC2...

but you need to completed the other certificates within 5 years of completing NGC1

I have just finished this qualification.

You can just do the Construction cert.

As pradeesh rightly pointed out, you do NGC1 and then have to complete NCC1 and NCC2 within 5 years. Having said that I did the exams NGC1 and NCC1 on the same day so it can be easily done.
