If you have done the Nebosh Dip then you must do IPD which is 7 units based on your work experience then peer review. If NVQ 5 then you must complete the open assessment (20 degree level questions) followed by the peer review If you have a degree in a related subject then my understanding is that you may have to do IPD and the open assessment before you have the peer review. if you go into Myiosh and look up IPD it will explain good luck

This information is quite useful thanks, I have just qualified as Grad and will be looking to Chartered next. On that then is there a time frame you must wait or can you apply straight away? IOSH do not make this very clear.
My CPD is up to date so do I need to set up a new IPD and transfer my info across or is it all new evidence?? Also some sample questions would be most helpful as i am rubbish with exams.
regards
Paul

Hi Paul,
You need to pay about £160.00 to begin your IPD, you need to upply evidense (certificate) to IOSH its all explained in the MIOSH IPD help pages, quite straight forward, you continue entering evidense in your normal CPD route. I have had no luck finding questions although a friend of mine says he has copies of the ones he completed, I will let you know if i can get hold of them
Thanks
Tony

Hi, its 48 questions for part A. Not 20 and they are not easy I completed part A with 3 minutes to spare.

I was at an IPD session the other day. They dont provide the questions from previous assessments anymore and they are in the process of changing the questions. As Tony has said you will continue to complete the CPD all through your membership of IOSH and it will be audited before your peer review interview. The information submitted as part of your IPD can and should be used in your CPD as its all learning or retention of skills and knowledge. You have 2 years to complete your IPD once you have paid the £160. Kevin

Having just recently completed the IPD process and awaiting my final interview, can I suggest when you register for IPD you start as soon as possible. It's all too easy to sit and wait thinking you've got two years to complete and then be rushing to complete as the end time gets nearer!

How many times can you sit the test and interview in that 2 year period?

Kate,
I have the two I had to do for part B if thats any good Part A is multichoice but can have upto four correct answers for each questions, they are any many different subjects and can be quite testing.

There are no sample questions. They change with each open assessment.
You have 48 multiple choice questions with which you have 3 hours to complete them. You will then know as soon as you have submitted them if you have made the pass mark.
If you have passed part A, you then have 5 days to complete part B which is two scenrio based questions you must go and research. They are limited to I think 700 / 800 words and anything over the allowed limit is not counted, so you have to make every word count.
These are degree level questions and the syllabus I believe is made available to you once you have entered for your IPD. This will give you the potential areas of questions and give you an opportunity to study for the gaps where you know you are weaker.
You cannot just pass this, half of the people that take it fail so you need to study to pass it, but it is very rewarding if you do.
I wish all those taking their exam and PRI lots of luck. It is a process I really enjoyed, and it was very rewarding.

Likewise. Confirmation that I passed my IOSH Open Assessment. Now I have to wait for my CPD to be audited prior to booking my peer review interview. Overall a pleasant experience so far.

Thanks Pradeesh. just had confirmation that my CPD Audit was passed and I can now book my Peer Review interview.
Again IOSH has kept me informed throughout the process and have been particularly helpful.
Now to start my presentation.....

My PRI is scheduled for jan 27th, I had submitted my presentation (5 Slides) and Employment record for last 5 years.
The core questions are not available in IOSH Website any more, instead they provide core areas..but when i contacted membership they told me that the questions are the same before, and if you an old copy you can use the same to prepare....
prepared as normal for the PRI, had a look on the core questions, scribed my answers down to have an idea what i am supposed to talk including give supplementary questions..but still it will be great to know more about PRI from those who complete recently.
looking forward.
regards,
Prad
