Hi,
The company I work for has a transit van used for deliveries to other sites within a two mile radius of head office.
It is mostly things like aerosols/paints and standard chemical used in the manufacture of fabricated metal products.
We do occasionally move the odd welding gas bottle between sites if someone has run out.
Would we need to mark up the van with hazard triangles whilst doing this?
And if so what would be required.
I've had a search but it seems a little vague on the HSE website, and wondered what you good people do.

Not expert Lesely and I'm sure more informed members will post soon but I believe you need to look at the ADR regs in relation to Limited Quantity Exemptions and Small Load Thresholds and determine if the goods you carry, in terms of type and quantity, allow you to transport without full compliance with ADR regs. You should note that if you qualify for these exemptions there are still part of the ADR regs that you will need to comply with.
Perhaps something that you may need to bring in someone with specialist knowledge to assist you with as it can be very confusing.

Hi.
No need to put anything on the van with regard to paints and aerosols.
How many gas bottles and what gas do they contain?
To give you an idea- you would need to be over 333kg of acetylene before you had to mark the van- and then you would be 'full blown' ADR.
