I have a number of NEBOSH qualifications under my belt (General Cert, Construction Cert and Diploma Part 1) taken back in early 2000s. My career path since undertaking these courses has not really matched and my current role is a Technical Administrator position in aviation.

I am currently reviewing my career path and I am not sure that I can 'compete' with others due to the limitations of my current role and the ability to demonstrate / keep up to date with H&S skills and experience. My confidence has also been affected.

I am now considering if I can stay within the profession or should consider other areas.

Can anyone suggest a way forward or areas that I could consider to either re-vitalise my career or change to another career path?

Assume there are no other jobs you could apply for internally that would allow you to utilise the qualifications you have? Even if you don't have the exact match at the moment, perhaps they would allow you to study for the role?

If not and it's not looking like you'd be able to enhance what you have already, I'd probably start check of there are any jobs that you could apply for and see how you get on - update the olde CV and network if you can (attend IOSH meetings so people can meet you in person - it's easier to remember someone you've already met at an event than a stranger by just looking at the CV).

Good Luck!
