Hi all I Have just returned to the UK after working abroad for the MOD for the past 3 years. I am looking to change career paths and very interested in Health and Safety and Fire Safety. I hold the General Certificate and Fire Safety Qualifications from NEBOSH and a new member to IOSH. I am looking to gain some further work experiences in different industries. Would any one be prepared to offer some work shadowing for me to gain this? I am in Dorset but can be in Hertfordshire, Essex or Suffolk. Many thanks

Hi Rob and welcome. Have you been to the branch yet? It is an ideal place to advertise as you have here. There are many 'ex MOD' both civvies and uniform. If you are still in MOD it is a really good place to start gaining experience in OSH (forgive me if this is what you do already!). It would help to know what sort of area you want to work in; general and small businesses, construction, rail education etc. No need to stick to it but use your past experiences and workplace knowledge to spring board in to safety. Steve Many thanks for taking the time to reply and for the information regarding the branch, I will look into this. I have now left the MOD and am looking for a career change, Health and Safety was a peripheral part of my role, I have gained some qualifications and would like to explore this further. Areas of interest would be general Health and Safety, Facilities management, Fire Safety, Asbestos management. Any assistance greatly appreciated. Rob
