I've completed my NEBOSH General Cert and have started the NVQ Level 5 in H&S. I'm working for a company as an health and safety adviser and they have just told me that they will only need me 3 days a week instead of 5, my wage for 5 days a week was only £21,000 per year so i'm struggling now, I just wondered if there was any work out there, I'm in Lancashire, near Burnley, It's lookin glike i'm going to have to throw the towel in and join the ranks of the unemployed otherwise as I can't survive on 3 days a week pay, thanks in advance.

Quick reply before the moderator see's this email.

I think you will have to be a bit pragmatic with this one.
You obviously are the only one who can determine how much money you need to live on; if you can manage on your new pro rata salary for a while the benefits of this would be the fact that the company is paying for your NVQ 5 (are they ??) and as you know a NVQ requires evidence from your job role.
I think you need to look at the other 2 free days and see if you can find a part time role. You've a lot to consider - good luck.

Thanks for the reply, I'm actually paying for the NVQ myself! I've started looking for different employment, i'll consider anything at the moment, even if it means leaving the H&S world.

Aren't these posts allowed on here?

Liverbobs - Mods practice for several years has been to lock threads such as yours and get users of the forum to PM you direct. This is to exclude those of us who are recruiting from displaying our intentions - sly method of advertising vacancies!

As you will see from other postings on the members' forums the current ban on advertising vacancies may be overturned. (Not before time!)
