Hi, is anyone familiar with International Board of Environmental Health and Safety (IBEOHS)? I would like to register as a safety officer and this is the only organization found online. Any advise or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

They seem to be USA based

how "international" they are is anyone's guess.

Can you ask your IOSH colleagues in your country?
Most of us are UK based and our experiences might not be useful in your situation

Hi there,

I took at look at their website, and to me it smells a lot like what we call a 'paper mill' on this side of the pond. In the U.S., the most respected 'general practitioner' professional certification is the CSP, or Certified Safety Professional, offered by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, which is the governing body for a number of OH&S related certifications. The IBOEHS' products don't appear to be accredited, unlike all of the certifications the BCSP offer, the BCRSP here in Canada, and the ABIH in the U.S. That alone makes me very, very suspicious.

I would not touch an unaccredited OH&S certification offered by anyone - unless I knew a LOT about the governing body, their certification process, who runs the organization, and how close they followed the elements of accredited OH&S certification products, such as the requirements set out in the ISO 17024: 2012 personal certification standard.

Just my 2 cents.

Argyll.
