Hi all,
Please can anyone advise if a cat scan would pick up a Radlok system?
Kind regards,
Donna

Isn't the purpose of radlock (assuming we're talking amphenol product) to ensure a visible, easily accessible system of power interconnects? The junction box should be obvious. Beyond that, it's a cable - no different from any other.

Excuse the ignorance, but what is a Radlock System?

http://www.itab.se/lit/i...rolley-Retention-System/In this case it's related to the above link - anti theft trolley system... One of our engineers was alleged to have cut through the cable despite protesting he had cat scanned the area, it later transpired the cable had been dead for some time but my question still stands. I know not everything is always picked up but when multi-million pound contracts hang in the balance how do you defend this when one of your highly trained engineers is adamant they scanned the area? Thanks for the response!!

I've never personally scanned for a radlock cable but did the engineer scan on all 3 settings as it significantly increases the likelihood of detecting a signal? regards Yul

Hi Yul,
Thank you for your reply - as mentioned, highly trained, reliable and competent civil engineer (one of our best) personally I trust his word when he persists he scanned the area and consistent to the training he has been given.
The difficulty also with these systems is that they are laid on private land with no service plans available and the stores management can offer little advice on whether they have the system installed or not.

TBH, I would be amazed that a CAT would pick this up even if functional. Certainly when de-energised, unless a genny was attached to the end, I doubt it would ever be found. I doubt that such a cable would emit enough energy to be detected by the CAT.
Was he really a Civil Engineer? If he was digging holes, then honestly he was a ground worker, not a Civil Engineer. Civil Engineers design structures, they have their own professional institutes, and membership is quite high. The ICE.

Yes he is a civil ground worker, it's an internal name ie: maintenance engineer, install engineer, civil engineer, tech maintenance engineer ...
