Hi, Have a look at this forum http://hsestudygroup.proboards.com/ I finished my NVQ earlier this year and used this forum for parts of it. They are a very friendly bunch, with no NEBOSH snobs in sight! Regards

Pardon! This particular NEBOSH Snob tries to be helpful and friendly, though perhaps not always appreciated. Apologies to the OP as I have not done the NVQ, I can not help with this particular issue. But if you have a particular H&S question people on here will often help. Chris

As an NVQ assessor I would always look for quality over quantity. The 300 words per question is irrelevant if a candidate has not sufficiently answered the question/prompt. Similarly the number of pieces of evidence - you have in excess of 30, is irrelevant if the evidence does not meet the learning criteria. Unit 401 is simply an explanation of how H&S is communicated in your organisation. I recommend contacting your assessor if you need support with this unit - after all that is what he/she is being paid for.

401 how H&S is communicated, this could be done using notice boards, H&S committee meetings, town hall talks etc. keep the minutes and agendas as evidence

If you can PM me your email address I will send you over all my unit 4 stuff - I passed a couple of years ago - maybe this will give you an idea of what is required for the unit. You shouldn't need that much evidence or be that wordy with the statements to be honest.

And now I know what the question is about how about On the job training by colleagues, toolbox talks, induction, safety briefings, external safety training, e-learning v direct, Posters, H&S notices, Inspections, informal discussions addressing individual concerns, supervision directions. Also You don’t have to have a Committee meeting with employee representatives, you can choose to brief all employees directly. Attainment of external accreditation to a particular standard(s). Safety reward schemes. Last but not least Management leading by example ! Chris
