I have been working in health and safety for almost 2 years now, not long i know!  During my time i have been involved in training staff on health safety and fire inductions as well as RPE training around specific fire situations which i enjoy immensly.  I have been looking this morning to see how i can get in to a more training role.

I am trying to get my employer to pay for me to get a PTLLS qualification (or the current equivalent) as i dont have a relevant training qualification but are there any other qualifications i should be looking at?

PTTLS is a great course to start as it covers areas such as lesson plans and timing which is a major asset, and also people with different learning capabilities and how to adapt your training methods  to incorporate all persons attending. From PTTLS you can also carry on to the next training levels CTLLS and  DTLLS qualifications. All  are well received by employers

Plus theres also train the trainer which in my opinion is not as good but again its a good starter

I looked into this before and I think NEBOSH or IOSH (or both) if you want to teach their courses require the Level 3 award in education and training (not sure how that tallies up with the other one though!) Georgia

hi

the level 3 award in education and training has replace the old PTLLS and is recommend you conbine it with an assesing vocational learning award as then can assess NVQs and meet qualsafe and other awarding body requirements for assessing first aid etc.
