Who can give the HSE related training in the construction project?

Is only the certified person only allowed to give the training? or

Qualified - Nebosh IGC certified HSE professional can also give the training to the workforce like Working @ Height, Confined space awareness & others.

Our client company mentioned that only HSE professionals who have Train the Trainer course can only be authorized to provide the training to the construction workforce.

Please suggest me by reference

I was about to ask the same thing.

The reason why more and more companies ask for Train the Trainer is because most OHS practitioners in this area have no delivery skills and, even more concerning, are not even aware that they don't.

Considering the general practice in most training centres across the region, I'm pretty sure you can pay for an IADT and have it shipped to you in time for your first training.

I've been on a number of trainings here and thank god(s) for self-study, because most of the the people delivering were struggling to recite/read from those god-awful powerpoints and had virtually no knowledge on the subject.

I do hope awarding bodies up their game in this area, it's just sad, albeit a cash cow.

A Nebosh IGC does not assess your pedagogical skills and knowledge, nor does it develop your delivery methodology.

mihai_qa, surely the correct training approach is the one style fits all and as I/he/She is the trainer, my one style is the correct one.  (Joking) I'm not sure that being qualified either as a trainer or a Safety person is the only requirement and often neither is relevant or necessary.  It surely depends on the subject, the depth of knowledge required and imparted and of course, techniques used.   As highly qualified safety person may have little nor limited skills at imparting the knowledge in the same way an unqualified trainer may be brilliant at imparting the information to the relevant audience.   A while back I missed a job becasue the company favoured training qualification over the subject matter qualification & skills and training albeit without a certificate to accompany it.  I knew the successful candidate who later thought the company made a mistake in their job spec.    I've soince done a number of training quals to support previous experience.   Training is much like any other role,  it very much depends on what is required to do the work competently and select the right person accepting that sometimes they may be over as well as under certified/qualified
