Good evening, I was wondering if anybody could help me. After reviewing our site workplace transport risk assessment, its clear it needs to be more specific to areas instead of a whole site generic assessment.
I need to break down the areas individually, this will then allow me to look at the whole site, some areas are low risk i.e. 2 FLT in the warehouse, other areas are very busy I.e. 25 pickers & 30 FLT in an area. Could anybody guide me on the format they use. I was thinking of developing a spreadsheet with a number of drop downs i.e. number of staff in area/number of FLT in area/pedestrians in area/current controls, once this information is selected I wanted to risk rate, red/amber/green uisng a scoring system. Any suggestions or guidance would be much appreciated. Kind Regards,

We could relate RAs to zones or modes of operation -FLT, pickers etc. it would be difficult to cover all the permutations of what and where the RAs apply on one document or it’s a large document. But that’s just a matter of endurance for you to build it up on a spreadsheet for you and the H&S team A one risk is missing one of the drop downs The challenge is how to communicate that to the operators etc and I’m not sure if drop downs on a spreadsheet would achieve that, perhaps it comes back to a few pages about zones or modes of operation With a bit more info about the setup and operation we can look at more options
