I work in Healthcare and we have one department who is refusing for their team to undertake FIT testing stating it is a waste of time and money and that no one else is doing it. We know that this is not true but I would be grateful to hear from others working in Healthcare (Private and NHS) about your experience and your current stance and approach to FIT testing. We are operating in line with HSE and IPC guidance and adopting an approach to ensure that we are in a state of 'preparedness' and asking our teams to continue to FIT test. Most are doing so but this one department is refusing. Thank you

This is that moment in time that you invoke senior management to remind that "department" of their duties and obligations under law.

You mention being in a “state of preparedness” as the reason for the fit testing rather than they are using it routinely.
Quite agree with earlier comment about management taking a lead, but perhaps to reinforce the situation is to review the preparedness policy and who needs it and the frequency which may negate their approach that it’s no longer relevant. Or, just perhaps, they might be right but haven’t explained it very well
