Let's not forget that relying on the media to report accurately is at best aspirational.
Dont forget the duck incident in south London where the media widely reported firefighters 'refused' to wade into a shin deep pond due to 'H&S reasons'.
It was (of course) nonsense, and when the FB arrived, a RSPCA chap in waders was already removing the unfortunate duck, so the fire service stood down.
But why keep this to a few column inches in a local rag when you can add a few lies and make it national news? The media simply cannot be trusted
TBH, it was probably good news for the duck really as it probably would have ended up in a pot in the fire station kitchen :)

I would have still 'salvaged' it for the fire station mess - especially as it was already in its own carrier bag. :)
