Hi All

Looking for some advice or tips really - got an interview for a Nuclear Safety position on Wednesday and having never worked in Nuclear and being asked to do a presentation on Decommissioning Challenges and Solutions i'm struggling at how best to structure the pres.

Anyone got any ideas or suitable topic headers? I've gone down the human factors route alongwith industrial type H&S - any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I'm with Walker - pity about the short notice!

How did you get on - what did you decide to present...?

Stuck with my original plan with some good input from walker (many thanks again!). I based the talk around 2 areas - human factors/behaviour and industrial H&S, with the radiological risks ever present overarching both areas.

They seemed to enjoy the human behaviour approach and said it was a refreshing take on the question asked of me. With the industrial H&S topic something i suspect they see a lot of. On the whole the feedback was good, they talked an awful lot about future progression and the fact they had no limit on vacancies given an open budget - so its just the long 2 week wait now!

nuclear is no different to other areas except for the radiation thread running through it and many many people have worked in the business for their whole working life without ever being exposed to the 'nuclear' bit of the business

NB:A huge amount of the work is undertaken by the subbies anyway where they have the exposures and hard work to contend with and all on a temp basis so do not know if they are employed from one job to another in many cases

best of luck
