Civil Claims Against the Ministry of Defence

Dear all, I am currently assisting someone who suffered an injury as a result of their service within the MOD. The time has now come to refer him for legal advice. Could anyone recommend a solicitor who deals with civil claims against the MOD please?

Can't remember the names but if the claimant looks at legal firms round Fareham (or Portsmouth and Gosport) there are some very good ex forces solicitors and barristers in the area. In terms of MOD they tend to deal with criminal stuff at Courts Martial but they do know their way round the Ministry and it's peculiarities
Hope that helps,
Jim

When did the injury happen? Was it in the uk ( very different rules apply ) Have you looked at the auto compensation payments under the Armed forces compensation scheme 2005. Eg there is a payment for certain injurys for example a prolaped disk is £6000. It may also be worth writing under the pre claims protacol action/ rules before taking legal action. ( you are expected to do or your solicitors is) PM me the details I will give you the address for the civi company who deal with MOD claims. If your service person is still serving get him her to fill in a request for a copy of the medical records. Just incase they get lost in the post to Glasgow........not that I know of any medical records going missing.....
