Hi there, Does anyone know of any training that can be given to some construction industry professionals? Is there a one day course to give an overview on the CDM 2015 update? Thanks

with all due respect I would read the regs and evaluate the comments made on this site as its as good as U can get as all other areas are opinion only as is this site - and attend one of the HSE CDM update events [if they are still running]. However the event I attended was a complete waste of time and worse and many very experienced construction people got up and left before the event finished The main principal has not changed e.g. construction activities are supposed to be adequately managed

I have to agree with Bob on this. For the most part, the duties are the same, it is just who carries them out which is different. Have a hunt round on line, read the available guidance which is online and come on here with the questions you will end up with. I have to say that even though I wasn't a fan of the changes, they are not too bad to work with and once the kinks have been ironed out (which may include a few prosecutions unfortunately...) it should be quitter straightforward to work with.

CITB are doing a half day overview, I found it helpful.

CITB 1/2 day course on the new changes is very good. I got the details via their site. Only £25 pp. the most significant changes are; around CPP (all contractors / PC's must produce one for each job however small), domestic clients included, definition of notifiability changed, introduction of Principal Designer.
