I am a health and safety officer currently working in the education sector across an multi site business within the northwest, midlands and Scotland areas.
I am looking for a vacancy based within the northwest area with scope to travel where necessary.
I have a background in construction, transport and emergency arrangements administration within the nuclear regulation.

My current role includes:
Contribution to company policy and divisional statements

Co-ordinate the health and safety across 16 offices/sites.

Carry out health and safety inspections and audits across the 16 offices/sites.

Manage and investigate accidents/incidents and compile statistical data. Reporting RIDDOR related incidents through the HSE reporting process.

Develop a health and safety culture and operational health and safety procedures across 16 offices/sites.

Deliver training in Work Placement Assessment, Conflict Resolution, Workplace Inspection, Risk Assessment.

Work in collaboration with estates, contractors, architects, landlords and building control on refurbishment projects to ensure H&S is managed.

Carry out pre-occupancy inspections to ensure H&S matters – inc. asbestos, gas, electrical, Legionella, fire, welfare, lighting, heating/ventilation, access, etc arrangements are managed.

Provide a regional report and consultative advice to Regional Directors and managers at regional H&S committee meetings.

Co-ordinate numerous safety campaigns to ensure all ‘hard to reach’ peripatetic workers are included in H&S.
