we are about doing some work at height , is there a scafolding best practices or standards we may fiollow

Have your staff had any Work @ Height Training at all? That would have covered the basics of working from Scaffolding. I assume it's tube and clip scaffolding or is it a Mobile Tower?

The initial question would seem to suggest that you are far from ready to start working with scaffolding - I'd suggets your starting point should be the NASC website (National Access & Scaffolding Association) which will provide you with a whole raft of information, guidance, standards etc, along with your legal responsibilities.
