Hi folks,

As a newbie I would just like to introduce myself. I am currently a H&S Representative for the TSSA Union and have been for a number of years. I am due to complete the TUC Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety in December. I am informed this will give me the academic requirements for the TechIosh standard.

I suppose my initial question would be of how to now get work in the H&S sector. I am also a qualified (QTLS) teacher / trainer if that helps.

Anyhow, thanks for reading and I hope to contribute more in the future when I find my feet so to speak.

Thanks again

Welcome
Difficult to get a good position in the H&S sector at the moment.
My advice is get yourself a good updated CV and get your profile on some recruitment sites. It sounds like you have some qualifications and experience in a H&S role: that's a good start, some people have great qualifications and no work experience and vice-versa. You really need both to secure a good H&S role. Try some networking as well, attend some IOSH branch meetings, you can check were the nearest one to you is on this web site.
Yet again welcome to the forum.
