Hi there I've worked in the Construction Industry for over 10yrs as a Doc Control. I've been trying to do a career change and move into Health and Safety. I've recently completed my NVQ L5 in Occupational Health and Safety. I've updated my cv and was given an opportunity on a project as a Trainee HSE advisor whilst I was completing my NVQ. I have been applying for jobs as a trainee or HSE advisor but not been getting anywhere. Any ideas I am freelancing at the moment and even struggling to get a permanent job seems impossible. Can anyone help with some ideas or advice.

By the sounds of it practical experience may be holding you back. Are you able to tap into any of those contacts you have made over the last ten years?
